Chilli Garlic Noodles

As the weather starts to cool down, there's nothing quite like a warm bowl of noodles to comfort you. These chilly garlic noodles are the perfect mix of spice and comfort. Made with simple garlic and herbs, these noodles are sure to hit the spot.

These garlic noodles are the perfect dish for a party also. They are made with fresh garlic, ginger, and scallions (also known as spring onions), and are stir-fried in a light sauce. The noodles are then tossed with a slightly sweet and tangy sauce and served with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

The garlic and ginger give the noodles a slightly spicy flavour, while the scallions add a touch of sweetness. The sauce is the perfect balance of salty and sweet, and the sesame seeds give the dish a nutty flavour.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic
  • 1/2 tbsp crushed ginger
  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1/4 tbsp schezwan sauce
  • 1/4 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 cup boiled noodles
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced carrots
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced capsicum
  • 1/4 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup chopped spring onions
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste

Method of Preparation

  • Heat the oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add finely chopped garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds or until aromatic.
  • Add the chopped spring onions, sliced carrots and capsicum, crushed ginger, chilli flakes and oregano and toss to combine.
  • Add soy sauce, schezwan sauce and vinegar. You can also season it with white pepper powder to give an extra spicy flavour.
  • Cook for 1-2 minutes and add boiled noodles, salt and sesame seeds and toss well.
  • Sprinkle finely chopped coriander leaves on top.
  • The hot chilli garlic noodles are all set to serve.
