Spaghetti Balls

Presenting this fusion recipe of spaghetti balls which is a combination of veggies and white sauce. The total effect is mind-boggling; with the crunchy cover giving way to a mouth-watering noodle filling. A bit of tact is needed in shaping the balls but once you get that right, your spaghetti balls will be a sure shot success.

Serve these hot and fresh, while the textures are still fresh and scrumptious. Hands down, a perfect snack that can be served as an evening snack as well as a starter for any party.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp butter or ghee
  • 1 tsp all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 capsicum, finely chopped
  • 1 green chilly, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 3 cheese cubes
  • 1 cup noodles
  • Bread crumbs
  • Salt to taste

Preparations

For white sauce

  • Take 2 tsp butter or ghee in a pan and add all-purpose flour (maida) and stir it for one minute.
  • Add finely chopped onion and capsicum and further stir it for one minute.
  • Add milk and stir it till it becomes thick.
  • Add salt, black pepper, 2 grated cheese cubes and ½ tsp sugar. Mix well and allow it to cool.

For Balls

  • Take water in a pan, bring it to boil and make sure that noodles do not stick to each other.
  • Strain the noodles with the help of the strainer and wash those with cold water under the tap for 2 minutes.
  • In a bowl, add boiled noodles, tomato ketchup, 1 finely chopped cheese and green chilly.

For Paste

Prepare a paste using ½ cup all-purpose flour and ¾ cup water

Method

  • Combine all the ingredients of the ball in a deep mixing bowl.
  • Add white sauce little by little to this mixture.
  • The consistency of this mixture should be such that we can make balls out of it.
  • Dip these balls in the paste and then wrap with bread crumbs and deep fry it on medium flame till these turn golden brown in colour from all the sides.
  • Drain on absorbent paper.
  • Serve hot with cheese dip or ketchup.
