Any bread enclosed convenience food with different types of fillings and dressed with a variety of condiments come to our mind when we think of sandwiches. Before starting with this recipe let us dive deep into the history of sandwiches.

The sandwich is named after John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich and an 18th century English Aristocrat who started a craze for eating beef between two slices of toast. It is said that he ordered his valet to bring him meat tucked between two pieces of bread. He was fond of this form of eating because it allowed him to continue playing cards without getting his hands greasy from eating meat with his bare hands.

The Wall Street Journal has described it as Britain’s “biggest contribution to gastronomy”
