Craving something relaxing and refreshing? Chill out with a nice cold glass of homemade lemonade which will keep you happy and hydrated. Lemonade or Nimbu Paani is one of the best solutions to beat the heat.

Juice of freshly squeezed lemons, sugar and black salt is a perfect thirst quencher. Oh, and the addition of roasted cumin powder takes it up a notch.

You can also add some sprigs of fresh mint as well. This lemon-based drink is popular all over the world and in Indian cuisine; we season it with roasted cumin powder or black salt to give it a more tantalizing flavour. You can also use normal salt as per your preference and any sugar substitute for a low-calorie version.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tbsp black salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 glass water
  • 2 to 3 ice cubes
  • 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • Salt to taste

How to prepare

  • Take a glass of water and add sugar to it and stir well until thoroughly mixed.
  • Add lemon juice, salt and roasted cumin powder to it. Roast the cumin powder when you are making the lemonade as the roasting will leave a nice aroma to the lemonade.
  • You can also add some sprigs of fresh mint as well. Crush them slightly and then add them.
  • Stir continuously till all the ingredients mix well.
  • Pour crushed ice on the top of it.
  • The sweet and sour lemonade is ready to enjoy.
